Interns will rotate through various Conference Services operations. Orientation: Exchange Visitor will gain knowledge of the company's operational procedures, material safety data sheets, and cost controls of food budget. Dining Room Shift Leader: Building on the skills and knowledge acquired in the previous phase, Exchange Visitor's role during this phase is to receive hands-on training in hospitality leadership techniques and operations. She will assist staff and guests with various assignments as described below. Guest Service Management: This phase will provide Exchange Visitor with an overview of YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly operations from the perspective of Guest Service Manager. The overall objective is to assist in the career development and confidence of Exchange Visitor by providing solid training and work-based learning experiences. The training will be to learn the primary responsibilities of guest services manager as well as the interplay between the primary operating departments. Food Service and Project Management: The skills in all of the phases will be taught through demonstration and shadowing of staff members. During this final phase, Exchange Visitor will take on a leadership role in providing excellent customer service and meeting quality standards for services. She will perform other or different tasks as determined by management.
